We are in for a special treat this month. We have arranged for a private tour of the farm/garden at the beautiful Ranch Restaurant in Laguna Beach. This property includes a golf course, overnight accommodations, and a restaurant. The on-site garden provides greens and other edible specialties that are used in the restaurant, as well as flowers to beautify the tables. A collection of fancy chickens provides eggs that are used in the fresh pasta made daily. Gardener Leo will treat us to a private tour and explain how he manages his little garden from seed starting, growing, harvesting, and finally using left-overs from the restaurant to create compost to help the gardens grow even better! We will be shuttled from the main restaurant area past the golf course to his unique 'Garden by the Sea'. After our tour, we will enjoy lunch together at the nearby Ruby's on PCH. Bring your checkbooks to sign up for this fun activity! There will be carpool sign-up sheets at our February meeting as well.
